The Micro-Enterprises Support Programme (MESP) commenced operations in November 1997. Its objectives are to contribute to Kenya's economic recovery and sustainable economic growth, increased employment creation and poverty alleviation. MESP works with intermediaries that provide financial or non-financial services to micro-enterprises. The programme is organized into four components: credit; product development and marketing; institutional support and capacity building; and programme co-ordination.
