Triodos Facet assessed financial mechanisms that link poverty reduction and environmental conservation. For each mechanism, we identified the pros and cons. Specific attention was paid to the bio-rights approach. Based on the quick scan, we proposed recommendations for designing appropriate financial mechanisms in a large-scale project executed by Red Cross and partners in the Sahel region.
