On May 19th, Alberic Pater conducted a workshop on Human Resource Management for value-driven MFIs at the MFC conference in Prague.

The past years, the microfinance industry has experienced a tremendous growth. At the same time, MFIs are under pressure to transform into professional organizations and reach both financial and social objectives. For MFIs, human capital is the key factor to organizational success and a coherent human resource management system is indispensible for reaching double bottom line results.

Triodos Facet has developed a model for aligning HRM systems with social values. At the workshop, this model was discussed and HR managers from MFIs explained how their organizations have designed their HRM systems and the challenges they faced in aligning HR systems with their social values.
