The Sustainable Energy Solutions for Africa (SESA) initiative is a Public Private Partnership between Philips Lighting and the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs. SESA is a three-year programme to develop sustainable, non-exclusive distribution and marketing networks for energy services for poor people thereby generating income for thousands of entrepreneurs. Triodos Facet and ETC Energy were contracted to support the development of lasting retail networks in 9 African countries with a view to bring products and services to the Base of the Pyramid market.

Countries involved: Uganda, Kenya, Mali, Ghana, Tanzania, Senegal, Rwanda, Zambia, Burundi, Burkina Faso.
