Project Management Caribbean Microfinance Capacity Building Project (CARIB-CAP) |
|
Within the Latin American and Caribbean Region the focus on the development of micro and small enterprise finance providers has traditionally been on those within Latin America, the only exception being the Dominican Republic and Haiti. While Micro and Small enterprises lenders within the English speaking Caribbean Countries exist, the numbers that have reached any level of sustainability are few. To further develop the microfinance sector within this region, The Inter American Development established a capacity building programme (CARIB-CAP).
Triodos Facet and project partner Development Options Ltd. (Kingston, Jamaica) are managing the MFI capacity building project in the Caribbean region and training various MFIs in 8 countries in the Caribbean: Jamaica, Belize, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, Suriname, and the Bahamas.
