AEMFI was created to structure the microfinance sector in Ethiopia, lobby for enabling an environment for microfinance and appropriate supervision and regulation of the microfinance sector and to support the member institutions in their performance improvement.

For the Rural Financial Intermediation Programme (RUFIP), Triodos Facet provided technical assistance support for the development of training manuals for several courses to be used by the Ethiopian financial sector stakeholders, including: preparation of training course materials in technicl areas of microfinanceand delivery of Training to Trainers for about 40 trainers to be selected from service providers, practitioners and stakeholders.
