Building capacity for mainstreaming entrepreneurship in curricula of Vocational Education &Training |
|
The Morogoro Vocational Teacher Training College (MVTTC) trains teachers of the vocational training centres (VTCs) in Tanzania. There are 800 VTCs of which 20 are owned by Vocational Education & Training Authority (VETA). Key element in VETA’s strategy is to integrate entrepreneurship education in the curricula of both the teachers’ college and the vocational training centres. Students have sufficient expertise in their technical field, but lack business skills and entrepreneurial attitude. VETA’s goal is to improve the entrepreneurial skills of the VTC-students. Triodos Facet designed and implemented an Entrepreneurship Education and Training (EET) curriculum.
