Triodos Facet helps financial institutions and SME service providers to internalise a focus on sustainability and develop products that enable their clients to operate in line with corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles. 

Many SMEs lack access to tangible expertise in the field of sustainability. Triodos Facet supports financial and non-financial institutions working with SMEs with developing CSR capacity. We assist these institutions with developing and implementing practical tools that help small and medium entrepreneurs to spot opportunities, develop CSR strategies and measure results.

CSR for small enterprise financial institutions.
Triodos Facet has developed a CSR toolkit for microfinance institutions and small enterprise banks. This toolkit contains training, coaching and practical tools that help financial institutions to:
• Raise awareness on the relevance of CSR for financial institutions working with the MSME sector.
• Integrate social & environmental risk assessment in loan cycle.
• Recognise potential social & environmental risks by means of detailed sector fact sheets.
• Offer suggestions to improve environmental, health and safety performance of the entrepreneurs.

We have implemented this toolkit with more than 50 MFIs in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia.
