The Social Fund for Development (SFD) is a governmental organisation focussing on stimulating the small and medium enterprise sector in Egypt. Together with KfW, SFD established the Egyptian German Best Practice Microfinance Program to increase employment, income and safety of small entrepreneurs as well as to create incentives for banks and NGO’s to extend their financial services to micro entrepreneurs. Triodos Facet provides technical assistance to the programme.
