Mr. Stefan Platteau (1955) has 25 years of experience in private sector development, small and micro enterprise (SME) finance and promotion of sustainable trade and investment relations.

Mr. Stefan Platteau (1955) Mr. Platteau has acquired that experience both in consulting as well as in management positions. His work has covered the design, management and supervision of small and micro enterprise programs and the formulation and monitoring of national micro finance strategies. In recent years he has been specializing in the transformation of Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) and their search for investors, using his skills in the field of valuation of financial institutions and applying good practices related to governance. Having worked in Latin America, Africa and Asia, he has in depth knowledge of a variety of micro finance markets and providers. He has applied that knowledge to successfully head large evaluations in the fields of SME finance and private sector promotion.
